SERVPRO Can Often Repair Sump Pumps While Extracting Standing Water with Our Equipment
For most New Hampshire homes, a sump pump is like a water heater. It is a necessary piece of household equipment that you never notice until it fails and you have to deal with the results.
SERVPRO understand exactly how a sump pump failure affects Nashua homes. As a locally owned franchise, we live here too and know what it is like to feel water on your toes when you step off the last of the basement stairs. Our experience and training let us deal with the common causes of a failure and how to handle them.
Power Failure – Get a backup generator already! OK, if you do not have one and the power is back on, there is the possibility that your pump was damaged when the power surged as it went out. Replacement components are an off-the-shelf item, and we keep parts for the major models in our inventory and ready to go. If this is the case, our technicians can get you back up in a matter of hours.
Wrong Size – This can go either direction. If you have a pump too large for your home, it works too hard and has a shorter lifespan. If too small, it cannot pump out the water fast enough. We can extract the water temporarily with portable submersible pumps, but you still need to purchase a new one for a permanent fix.
Improper Installation – If you or the installer did not set up the pump correctly, it would fail within a matter of minutes or hours. Unless the installation has broken the motor shaft, our technicians can repair and reinstall the pump, so it meets requirements. Depending on the extent of the failure, this could take a day or two. As we repair it, other technicians run one of our pumps to keep you dry.
Clogged or Frozen Discharge Lines – Water has nowhere to go if ice, dirt or other debris block the exit pipe except back into your home. A grated cover protects the exit pipe from dirt, rocks, and leaves. If there is the threat of ice, we can replace the existing pipe with a grated discharge line that has multiple openings.
SERVPRO of Nashua is prepared to help you keep your house safe and dry. We have the training and the equipment needed to get the job done. Call us today at (603) 889-2311 if you need our help or would like to schedule an inspection.
