Nashua Storm Causes Flooding
The rising water from the Nashua River entered this house and left a messy mixture of water, mud, and sewage. This biohazard condition was dealt with by our SERVPRO qualified technicians wearing HAZMAT outfits for safety. We extracted the standing water and then proceeded to dispose of the carpet, padding, and several feet of drywall. The contaminated water wicked into this material rendering it non-salvageable. The demolition was minimal thanks to our rapid removal of the Black Water. We set up air movers, heated dryers, and dehumidifiers to seize the water molecules in the air. This process took three days to reduce the moisture to acceptable, verifiable, levels. The concrete and block are slow to absorb water, and also slow to release it. We sprayed antimicrobial chemicals to protect against pathogens and mold growth.
